There's two airports for flights to Bansko. Both airports do provide access to the resort so you can choose to fly into either one when looking for flights to Bansko from the UK. Although both are a fair distance away, unfortunately there is not another choice as the proposed airport at Bansko is not yet under construction.
The most obvious airport for flights to Bansko is Sofia which is about 160km away from the Bansko; from there you can choose to take a short train ride or a longer bus ride. Car hire is also a choice that may be the best for travelling if you plan on also exploring the countryside while in Bansko.
The second airport for Bansko flights is the Ploviv airport, which is a little bit further at 180km. Once again you can choose to take a train ride or you can hire a car so that you can utilize it during your stay in Bansko.
Although there are taxi services that are available to take you from the airport to the resort, given the distance, the hire rates can get quite high, so most people do not consider this a viable option. However, given that the Ploviv airport is a little further away you will save on airfare a little, versus flying into Sofia.
Most people choose to fly into Sofia when flying to Bansko due to the fact that there is a three hour coach transfer worked into the price of the air ticket.
